We face social issues daily which in turn affect our collective existence as a society. Some of them can only be solved when we identify them

This article highlights some of social problems in Nigeria and their reasons, counting on your contributions to proffer solutions to  many problems bearing in mind the current situation of things in the country.
 What are social problems?
Social problems are widespread behavior or conditions that are  frequent among majority in a particular society and have bad effects on the society beyond what is seen as ethical and simply appropriate. Social problems include issues that lessen the usual living of people in society beyond an appropriate level. Social issues are however distinguished from economic issues; however, some issues (such as immigration) have both social and economic aspects
Some social problems we have listed here include:
● National identity-  Nigeria is a country born out of the amalgamation of the southern and northern Nigeria. Our nation is made up of a large number of ethnic groups with a lot of identity differences. So, Nigeria still struggles to have one identity because of the too-many identities already present in the country.

Some people are of the opinion that to deal with the issue of national identity Nigeria should first deal with the issue of state of origin as this tends to tribalise the nation rather than unifying it. Do you agree?
● Corruption - A high level of corruption has broken down a system meant to function and unify us as one. The corruption we are talking about here is not just the one practiced in the governance. Corruption in Nigeria is very visible on every level, from the intricate part of the government to the corners of the street.

Its widely believe that Nigerians all-over are corrupt, is this true? what can be done to correct this perception? Many people have advocated to the scraping of  jumbo pay to Nigerian legislators and other politicians as this tends to be the root of all corruptions in Nigeria, its even believed that politics has relegated to the backdrop the culture of hard work as there now seem to be a new culture of get-rich-quick which has eaten deep in our fabrics, so much such that young people are now more involved in criminal activities such as cyber-crime popularly called yahoo-yahoo and others in a bid to getting quick wealth.
● Inequality -  is another major societal problem in Nigeria. Equality is not necessarily when people are equal in all things. However, in our society, this concept does not work. There are ethnic, gender inequality and inequality based on societal class.

This argument has been to and fro for many years now, some people advocate resource control like in the case of the Niger-delta where for decades oil has accounted for the nation's wealth creation without visible signs of development in the region where this oil is exploited. Do you agree with this school of thought ? Other cases of inequality have been identified in the area of national appointments government in and out of administration, every now and then serving administration appear to favour their regions when appointing cabinet members, this too is largely responsible for the massive failure for many decades now as often appointments are seldom made on merit.
